Last Few Points to Note

Community is a Core Value of Education and Training Board (ETB) schools.

I want to take a moment to sincerely thank and congratulate every member of our school community for showing up and giving your very best each and every day this year.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents for your incredibly generous summer gift. We had a lovely night out in Navan to mark the end of the school year—it was the perfect way to celebrate all that we’ve achieved together.

A special word of thanks to our fantastic Parent Association for your ongoing support of teaching and learning in our school. Our Career Day was a brilliant success again this year, and the Summer Carnival continues to be one of the highlights of our calendar. I strongly encourage more parents to get involved next year. With solid structures now in place, your contribution can have a real impact, and it’s a wonderful way to show your child how much you value their education.

To the incredible staff and school management team: thank you for your dedication, your positivity, and your commitment to always putting the child at the centre of everything we do. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed. I’d also like to thank LMETB and our Board of Management for their ongoing support in the running and development of our school.

Finally, the biggest thanks and congratulations go to our wonderful pupils and the fantastic Pupil Council. You are the heart of this community, and it is a privilege to witness your growth, enthusiasm, and achievements every day. You’ve all worked so hard—enjoy a well-earned summer break!

To our Graduates:

It has been a true pleasure to work with our graduating class over the past eight years. We have watched you grow, learn, and thrive, and we have no doubt that you are ready to face whatever challenges the world may bring your way.

Always remember to be kind—no matter what. That is the greatest strength you can carry with you. Go n-éirí an bóthar libh go léir!

We warmly invite everyone to join us for a Guard of Honor as we bid farewell to our graduates when they leave our school gates for the last time at 11:45am tomorrow, Wednesday.

School Calendar
School will close tomorrow, Wednesday at 12 midday and will reopen on Wednesday 27th of August at 9am. School attendance is very important. When booking holidays please stick to the school holidays. School Calendar available here

Each child will require a well-stocked pencil case

Creative Keyboards

Creative Keys is a very popular after-school club. They are now enrolling for classes starting in September 2025. There is a keyboard supplied for each pupil in class. Students learn music from Grade 1 to Grade 8 level. For more info click here

Primary Pals and Primary Pals Plus
We understand childcare is a huge challenge for families in our community. Primary Pals is a club for pupils in Junior and Senior Infants which runs daily from 1.40-2.40pm. Primary Pals Plus runs from 2.40-3.30pm each day. If you are interested in this service please contact Jana on 0863445115 to discuss.

Study Mates Homework Club for children in classes 1st-6th will run again next school year. We will share info on this in September.

June 2025

Dear parents,

This morning, we will be telling children who their class teacher will be for next academic year. Where possible, classes will go to their new room to spend some time with their new teacher. We are aware transitions can be very exciting for some children, yet a cause of great anxiety for others. We will make every effort to ensure the transition runs as smoothly as possible.

Please understand, summer recruitment is currently underway. There will be at least two rounds of interviews between now and return to school in August. You will see below some teachers cannot be confirmed until after recruitment. I must also be clear this teacher allocation could change.

*Junior Infant parents will receive a text in a few weeks to let them know which class their child will be in.

Dear parents,

We are currently busy planning for the new school year, including teacher recruitment, class allocations, buildings, furniture, school books, and more.

This blog will be my way of keeping you informed every step of the way.

As most of our classes now have waiting lists, it’s very important that we know if your child will not be returning to Ard Rí CNS in September. If your circumstances have changed, please let us know as soon as possible (email [email protected]) so we can ensure a smooth and well-organised start to the new school year.

Free School Books & Your Child’s Annual School Costs 2025/26

As part of the Free School Books Scheme, all schoolbooks, workbooks, copybooks, classroom resources, shared books, photocopying, and Art & Craft materials will be provided free of charge to every child in Irish primary schools.

However, there are some additional costs not covered by the grant.

Your child’s annual school costs for the 2025/26 school year will be €52 per child, which covers:

• €7 – Irish Public Bodies (IPB) Student Personal Accident Insurance (more

info)

• €10 – Text-a-Parent & Aladdin communication tools

• €35 – School Tour*

*The €35 school tour fee covers the cost of your child’s annual school tour in May. Due to significant increases in bus transport costs we are taking a different approach by collecting for the school tour at the start of the school year to allow for early planning and booking. Thank you for your continued support in helping us provide a rich and well-organised school experience for all our pupils.

Ard Rí CNS is a cash-free school, and we are proud to maintain the highest standards of financial compliance.

A Way2Pay bill for the €52 Student Direct Costs will be raised on your account on Friday.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.

Kindest regards,

Darragh
